Sacred to goddess Sati, Naina Devi Temple is one of the 64 Shakti Peethas and therefore a famous Hindu temple. According to legends, the temple is built at the same place where eyes of Sati fell during the course of Shiva's Rudra Tandava. The temple complex features a sacred peepal tree and idols of Lord Ganesh and Hanuman. Initially, the shrine was built on the top of a hill, which was later destroyed because of a landslide. Years later, a new temple complex, with idols of Lord Hanuman, Lord Ganesha, and Goddess Kali, was established by locals.
